As part of April's Fair Housing Month, the ACC Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) will host four weekly Lunch & Learn events covering affordable housing, homelessness, fair housing, and HCD's mission and future.
Each Lunch & Learn session is free and will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Satula Avenue Government Building Training Room at 375 Satula Avenue. Space is limited and reservations are required by the deadlines listed.
Some sessions are designed for organizations and HCD partner agencies, while others are designed for the general public. Registration is available online at www.athensclarkecounty.com/hcd or by calling 706-613-3155.
The Lunch & Learn sessions are:
- Thursday, April 6 - Affordable Housing (for HCD's partner agencies that address housing). Register by March 30.
- Thursday, April 13 - A Snapshot of Homelessness in Athens-Clarke County (for HCD's partner agencies that address homelessness). Register by April 6.
- Thursday, April 20 - Fair Housing (for the general public). Register by April 13.
- Thursday, April 27 - HCD: Where We Are and Where We're Going (for the general public). Register by April 20.
Training for the Fair Housing Lunch & Learn will be provided by Keith Swiney of Motivation, Inc. The federal Fair Housing Act Prohibits housing discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, familial status or disability.
